Films On Demand (FOD) is a Web-based digital video delivery service that allows you to view thousands of high-quality educational videos:

  • 22,700 full length videos
  • 230,600 segments
    * All films can be shown in the classroom.
    ** Films on Demand offer Closed Captioning.

Subject Coverage

Films on Demand covers a wide variety of subject areas including:

  • Guidance and Counseling
  • Family and Consumer Sciences
  • Technical Education
  • Careers and Job Search


Search films from the FOD Home page.

  • Type in a keyword, phrase, or program name -- for example, plumbing.
  • Use the drop-down menu to select by:
    • By Segments
    • By Titiles
    • By Transcript

Browse films from the FOD Home page.

  • Select Collections
  • Select a subject
  • Refine subject area -- Select SubGroup
  • Click on a topic to access a list of all videos in that topic

Films on Demand ~ Linking

To link to Films on Demand from the opening page of the NSCC Library webpage select the Streaming Video tab.

New Features Added

Custom Segment Tool Added

Films on Demand has added a new feature that allows all users to create their own unique Custom Segments.

Use the new custom segment tool to:

  • Create a new segment for any video saved to your collection
  • Identify the start and end times
  • Provide a title and description for the new segment

Create a free User Account to access other features and tools in Films on Demand.

With an Account you will be able to:

  • create and share customized playlists
  • save your favorite videos for quick access
  • Set your default preferences for search results and closed captioning.

To create a User Account

  • Click on Create Account
  • Enter your Name and Email Address
  • Select and confirm your Password.
  • Click the Login button.

You must have an account and be logged in to access features and tools. You do not require an account to search and view videos.

Off Campus Access

Want access from home?

NSCC Students, Staff, and Faculty can access Films on Demand from home:

  • Click on this Films On Demand link or
  • Go to Films on Demand from the ibrary website
  • A login screen pops up (see below)
  • Login with your W Number and password.

Important Tip

To gain off campus access you must link to Films on Demand from one of the many links in the NSCC Library website.
