Academic Integrity: Strategies for Success

This guide has been created to provide you with quick access to resources on the topic of Academic Integrity.

Strategies for Success

Know Your Syllabus

Read the syllabus carefully. If you are unsure about expectations and/or due dates, ask your faculty.

Work Independently

Always complete assignments independently. Clarify what is expected in group work or projects and create a positive working relationship with your team members.

Time Management

Don’t wait until the night before to begin an assignment. Being rushed for time is not an excuse for cheating or plagiarism.

Keep a Working Draft

Keep a working draft of all your assignments and projects and track your sources of information. Connect with your Library staff who can assist you in citing your sources.

Talk to Your Faculty & Supports

Make a point of getting to know your faculty. Introduce yourself and make sure you ask for clarification when needed. Contact the Writing Center for one-on-one writing support, and your Campus Library for research and writing assistance.
