Works Cited List

When creating your Works Cited list follow these basic organization and formatting guidelines:

  • begin a new page at the end of your essay or paper centering the words Works Cited (the first letter of each word is capitalized and the first word is always plural)
  • arrange the list of sources alphabetically by the surname of the first author or the corporate author
  • provide a hanging indent for the second and all subsequent lines of each citation
  • double-space all citations

Use the MLA Practice Template when formatting Work Cited lists.
