Using Text-to-Speech on Devices

Text-to-Speech on Android

Android phones have built in Accessibility features which can help make your phone more user-friendly! To view and enable these features, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "Settings Application".
  2. Under "General", tap "Accessibility".
  3. Enable "Select to Speak".

Text-to-Speech on iOS

Apple devices have accessibility features built within. To enable text-to-speech on your iOS device, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "Settings Application".
  2. Tap "Accessibility".
  3. Tap "Spoken Content".
  4. Enable "Speak selection" or "Speak Screen".
  5. "Speak Selection" will allow the phone to speak aloud any text you highlight.
  6. "Speak Screen" will read the entire screen if you swipe from with 2 fingers.

You can also edit the settings to best suit you (changing the speed, voice, accents, etc.).
