Assistive Technology: C-Pen

Assistive Technology resources for a variety of applications.

What is a C-Pen Reader?

The C-Pen Reader can be quite effective for those who are reading physical textbooks or printed material from Brightspace.

At the tip of the pen is a clear scanner. All you need to do is scan across a line of text (in your textbooks or printed documents) and this pen will read back what was scanned. There is a headphone jack on the top of the Pen so this can be discrete. These pens can be especially useful for those who have difficulties reading complex words.

You can use the pen to define difficult words as you read; which is helpful for individuals who English is a second language. Furthermore, everything which is scanned by the pen is stored in it’s memory. You can hook the pen up to a computer, and transfer the scanned words into a document. This can be really helpful for studying.

Prices start at $330.
