The general term of copyright protection in Canada changed on December 30th 2022, from 50 years after the life of the author to 70 years.

Public Domain Not Affected

Works where the term of copyright protection expired before December 30th, 2022, are in the public domain.

  • All content in the public domain remains in the public domain.
