LEAD 1010: Managing Yourself and Change: Habits

As defined by best-selling author James Clear, habits are the small decisions you make and actions you perform every day. James points to research by Duke University that habits account for about 40 percent of our behaviours on any given day. James has written extensively about how we form new habits, and describes their importance in our lives below:

"Your life today is essentially the sum of your habits. How in shape or out of shape you are? A result of your habits. How happy or unhappy you are? A result of your habits. How successful or unsuccessful you are? A result of your habits." ~James Clear

"Depending on what they are, our habits will either make us or break us.
We become what we repeatedly do." ~Sean Covey
