Online Tools at NSCC: Password information

This guide is meant to help students navigate NSCC online tools..

Starting with your Password

Changing Your Password

One of the first things you need to do when you get accepted into an NSCC program is reset your password.

You will receive your NSCC student number (often called a W Number) and a temporary password (N$12345), you then need to create a personal password known only to you. You can do that by following these steps (or watch the video above):

  1. Log into Office 365 using your W# and temporary password.
  2. In the upper right corner click on your image (or avatar) in the corner. Initially this may be the initial of your last name, but you can customize it with a picture later on!)
  3. Select My Account
  4. Click Security & Privacy on the left hand menu OR Manage Security & Privacy on the main screen
  5. Click Password to change it
  6. Put your old password (N$1235) in the box labelled Old Password
  7. Then create your new, personalized password which must contain:
    • At least 8 characters
    • Upper case letter
    • Lower case letter
    • Number
    • Symbol (!@#%^&*)
    • MUST NOT contain your first, last, or user name

*** These are the same steps you can follow to reset your password when necessary as well.
